Together, Ewalt and Walker are currently at work on two commissions; one from Broadway Across America about the American Lottery system called THE LUCKY ONES, and PUMPED, a fashionable new musical about the world of designer shoes from the producers of The Drowsy Chaperone. Their show, BROMANCE: THE DUDESICAL was most recently performed in a sold-out concert version at Joe’s Pub at the Public Theater starring Adam Chanler-Berat (Peter and The Starcatcher, Next to Normal), Jenn Colella (If/Then, Chaplin), Jason Tam (If/Then, Chorus Line), and Andrew Kober (Les Miz, Hair). BROMANCE has also been performed in concert at Caroline’s on Broadway and 92Y Tribeca, and has been developed by GroundUp Productions. Other shows include BATTLE SONGS OF YOUTH (Ars Nova's ANTFEST), and THE MAKING OF MADELINE MOORE (The Merc NYC). Their work has been seen in Michigan, Toronto, and London, and in New York at Playwrights Horizons, Joe’s Pub, 54 Below, Theater Row, Galapagos Art Space, and as part of the We Are the Song Benefits for the After the Storm Foundation. They are also the curating producers of the new musical theater series, BEHIND THE MUSIC-AL in conjunction with The Dramatists Guild, which has featured songwriters including Duncan Sheik, Adam Guettel, Stephen Flaherty, Larry O’Keefe, Lisa Lambert, Ryan Scott Oliver, Kerrigan & Lowdermilk, Joe Iconis, and Adam Gwon, amongst many others.
Michael is also an experienced playwright, whose play, LETTER FROM ALGERIA, debuted Off Broadway at the Abingdon Theater in 2011, produced by Ground UP Productions. Michael was hailed by The New Yorker and called one of American Theater Web's Playwrights Whose Work Bares Watching for his play, BLACKOUT, produced Off Broadway by The Cell Theater. Michael’s other dramatic writing includes the independent film, CHIN UP (winner, Audience Award at Atlanta Film Festival, Best Film Fusion Film Festival 2013), which he co-wrote with director Michelle Walson; the one act play THREE ROOMS, which was part of the Metropolitan Playhouse’s 2011 East Village Festival; the dance-theater piece How Culafroy Became Divine, which he co-authored with Moving Theater for its premiere at Jacob’s Pillow International Festival. Michael is a graduate of Yale University and earned his Master’s degree at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts and King’s College, London.
Kyle is an accomplished composer who has penned original pieces for Ultra Records, BIG Management, the jazz group Syncopation, and the dance/electronica band Kyven. Kyven’s latest album, Hands Down, was released this summer and has already been featured on MTV’s Jersey Shore, Gallery Girls, NBC’s The Voice, and Dance Moms. His compositions with international DJ sensation Serge Devant, “Surround U” and “Part of Me,” can be heard in clubs across the globe. Kyven’s single, “Stronger Love,” was featured on nationwide compilations for Abercrombie & Fitch and Adidas and was a top 40 hit in Poland for 8 straight weeks. Kyle is a graduate of Berklee College of Music, where he studied songwriting and vocal styles with Cheryl Bentine of the Manhattan Transfer.
